The Precious Moment of Death, The Largeness of Life

"Those of us who have had occasion to live for a certain time with a dying person, with a person aware of the coming of death, while we were aware of it also, must have understood what the presence of death can mean in a relationship. It means that every word must contain all the reverence, all the beauty, all the harmony and love which was perhaps dormant within the relationship. It means that there is nothing which is small, because everything, however small, can be an expression of love or a denial of it."
